Sandra Wimmeler and Denis Lönnendonker: deeply rooted in the beautiful Vulcan Eifel and thoroughly inspired by British style and humour.

And of course they’re both big fans of gin.

„We matched an ardent desire to develop our own brand of gin with a crystal-clear commitment to maintaining the highest level of quality. From this combination came – as the first product to emerge from the Windspiel manufactory – a high-end gin produced from potatoes.“

That’s why we make #windspielspirits

Because we love what we do. Because you can taste our passion for high-end spirits. Because perfectionism and a deep love of product pays off!

From the root to the bottle: at Windspiel everything is handmade.

We keep our batches of a small enough size to be able to ensure a constant high level of quality with transparency at every point in the production process. We make everything ourselves; we are on intimate terms with every step in the creation process; and we create our high quality spirits through an infatuation with our products, with a high level of expertise, and with a perfect mix of tradition and innovation.

High-proof engagement: from the beginning to the end with our own raw alcohol.

We value all our raw materials, we use regional top products, and we work with the best distillers in Germany: not just mere producers of alcohol, but masters of distillery. And a single guiding principle unites us: „Absolutely no compromise when it comes to quality!“

Sustainable working methods and business practices: that’s part of our DNA.

Our distilleries are overwhelmingly run on solar energy. The ingredients we use are almost all regional, the transport routes short. Our bottles are sealed with natural cork made using sustainable production processes, while the labels and boxes come from recycled paper, and they are shipped using CO2-neutral methods.

Who let the Dogs out?

#windspielhistory

Why Windspiel? The name Windspiel (the German name for a greyhound) goes back to Frederick the Great and his potato decree of 1746, which bestowed upon his homeland one of the finest natural products in the world. And his second great passion was greyhound dogs.

The symbiosis of these two passions were the inspiration for the naming of the manufactory. And besides, greyhounds are incredibly casual, extremely elegant and utterly exacting in their attitude. Just like our distillates!
